Rosa Villanueva is a passionate storyteller, devoted mother, and resilient advocate for student empowerment. Born and raised in a vibrant community that celebrates diversity and strength, Rosa has always been inspired by the incredible women around her. With academic backgrounds in Social Science and Psychology, along with a deep commitment to uplifting others, she has spent years working in educational environments, supporting students and communities through bilingual services, helping individuals find their voices, and encouraging one another throughout their journeys.
As a writer, Rosa draws from her own life experiences, navigating the complexities of motherhood, marriage, and personal growth. In her debut book, Rosa Viva: Like the Petals and Thorns of a Mexican Rose, she share a collection of poems, about love, pain and the desire to heal, transform and growth. In her upcoming book, Blooming Through the Thorns of Life, she shares powerful stories of struggle and triumph, inspiring readers to embrace vulnerability and celebrate resilience.
Rosa is also a dedicated advocate for youth and education, striving to empower at-promise students to dream boldly and pursue their passions. Her work extends beyond the pages of her books; she actively participates in community initiatives, workshops, and mentorship programs to continue gaining knowledge and skills that help her become a stronger leader.
When she is not writing or creating, Rosa dedicates her time to her handmade candle brand, Cervelitas Candles, and to her family–her daughter, Yirzely Hali, and her husband–who remain her greatest sources of love and inspiration.
Rosa believes every woman’s story carries meaning and power, and she hopes to inspire others to bloom with courage and beauty, even though life’s most difficult seasons.
